Mental Health Counseling

Layne Mitchell is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and offers counseling to Virginia residents. Layne has a wide range of skills from working in a variety of settings that include community health centers, juvenile detentions, county jail, and currently working as a full-time crisis clinician. 

Through these settings, Layne has had the opportunity to work with many conditions including Personality Disorders, Bipolar/Psychosis, PTSD, addiction and anxiety and depression.

Making a commitment to explore your mental health can be scary. We know it's a big step and we are happy that you have decided to work on YOU. We want you to know that healing can happen, there is recovery from mental illness and we are here to help. The quicker you start, the quicker you can implement the skills and steps to grow and heal. 

A little bit about layne.

Layne received a Bachelors in Psychology and a Bachelors in Criminal Justice from Virginia Commonwealth University. While working on her Masters in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling at VCU she served as a Fellow for SAMHSA working at the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services to earn her Prevention Specialist Certification. After spending time providing mental health services within the criminal justice system for her residency, Layne became a Certified Prescreener and currently works as a Crisis Clinician assessing individuals for TDO criteria. 

Layne enjoys private practice as she is able to witness individuals make small adjustments in order to make big changes.
